Huangshan City is located at the junction of three provinces Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi in southern Anhui Province。
East longitude: 117 ° 12'-118 ° 55 ', North latitude  29 ° 23'-30 °
Area of 9,807 square kilometers, population 1.47 million people.
Administrative region :Three exemptions (Tunxi District, Huangshan District, Huizhou District), four counties (Xixian County, Yi Xian, Xiuning Xian, Qimen County) and the Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area, located in Tunxi city. 

History 
After the emperor unified the country, set up Xixian County, Yi Xian; it was called Xindu County in Eastern Han Dynasty; in Sui Dynasty renamed to be xin'an County; Xi County in Tang Dynasty,  renamed to be Hui Island in Song Dynasty; the name has been used so far. the State Council approved the establishment of level of Huangshan City in 1987. 

Culture 
Ancient Hui Island has a long history of 2,300 years, Evolved Xin'an Science,  Huipai Science , Xin'an medicine, Xin'an painting School, Huipai prints, Huipai carving, Huizhou drama, Huizhou merchants, Huipai construction, huizhou "four eagles" .Food,tea,dialect are the representative of huizhou culture, which was called to be one of the three major regional cultures of China's possession with the Dunhuang Studies.
There are many famous people here.Such as the famous inventor of print Bi Sheng, physical home of Zhu Xi, philosopher Dai Zhen. The only Chinese people referred in Marx's "Das Kapital" , Wang Maoyin ,a financial manager.In modern times, a well-known engineering and technical experts Zhan Tianyou, people's educator Tao Xingzhi s, writers and scholars as well as Qi Baishi and  Chinese painting master Huang Binhong,called "South Huang Northern Qi ."

Huangshan City is the largest feature rich tourism resources.  Huangshan as the center and Taoism Qi Yunshan, key state protection of historical blocks Tunxi Street, the State Historical and Cultural Cities Xixian County, the Chinese paintings in the villages Yi Xian,  Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area in 1990 was included in the "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" list, November 30, 2000, Xidi and Hongcun also be included in World Heritage List.
